This is one of a series of paintings I did through lockdown to keep my spirits up after an injury to my back.  I had planted seeds during the start of the first lock down in the hope they would be in full bloom when we were all set free again in the summer but that did not happen. I was struggling with my back, mental health and loosing my job ( I’m usually a very active person, always on the go, out and about, busy, busy to not being able to enjoy any of the activities I once did. This really hit me and still does but its getting much better after a long 10 month stint so far of physio ) I  could not concentrate to paint for a long time due to the pain but s soon as I could and after many attempts, false starts, much procrastination and a lot of self doubt which still comes to bite me I decided to paint the flowers that have given me so much joy over the years but never as much as now. They have become my symbol of hope and joy and possibilities. They kick started me back into action and once I started I did not want to stop.
