Welcome to my colourful world
Hi, and thank you for visiting my website. My name is Debs and to cut a very long story short… I LOVE COLOUR, PAINTING, AND SIMPLY CREATING ART !!!
I am lucky enough to live and work on the stunning Isle of Anglesey (Ynys Mon), North Wales along with my long suffering husband, son, 2 dogs and 1 cat at the last count. I love where I live and can not fail to be inspired each day.
Like most artists I have always been very creative throughout my life and had a passion for nature, bright colour, textures, light and how something makes you feel but I have never really had the confidence nor known the direction where to take it.
In 2012 I finally plucked up the courage to show and then eventually start to sell my art a year after painting a cartoon portrait of the then Prince William and his future wife Kate Middleton. It was presented to them here on Anglesey and hung in their home here during their stay. The reaction to this gave me the confidence to start to think maybe I can do this!!! I have been painting and creating ever since.
My paintings are much more about the emotion that a place has, be it the light or time of day, the memories and sounds that swirl around in my mad little world and they all come out onto the canvas in a very colourful way. This is what excites me and makes me appreciate all the beauty, the nature, the character and the deep history this gorgeous Island possesses and best of all it’s home.
I love to work in varying mediums, experimenting all the time but I mainly paint with acrylics and oils, My thing, as you will have guessed by now is colour, it’s the emotion it evokes, if that makes sense and how that translates in the finished piece from subtle light dances to bold and saturated statements?
My pebble art started by chance, I was part of a group of mums in the village providing free art/crafts and sports sessions one day a week for the children during the school summer holidays. One particular day I was showing the children what they could create with the items they find on a walk or at the beach and we painted some pebbles. People asked if I was selling my pebble creations and that was it, my pebble art career started reflecting the fun, quirky and cheeky side of my nature and work
I have been dreaming of creating a fun and creative business for such a long time, one that revolves around my passion for art, my home, re-cycling and glorious, beautiful colour. So please take a walk with me on my journey to make it a reality as I develop my Art and my Pebble Designs. Browse the galleries and discover my colourful world. I don’t think there is anything in my house that doesn’t have a colourful splodge of paint on it but my friends and family are kind of used to it now.
I hope you will join me on this journey and enjoy the colourful ride.
